In a significant development, Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Co. (AWPT) has proudly announced that their consortium has inked a Build, Operate, Transfer (BOT) agreement with Saudi Water Partnership Co. (SWPC) for the inception of the groundbreaking Rayis-Rabigh Independent Water Transmission Pipeline Project (IWTP).
This groundbreaking agreement boasts a substantial value, standing at an impressive SAR 7.78 billion.

Distinguished by its pioneering nature, this project marks a historic milestone for Saudi Arabia. It's designed to possess an impressive transmission capacity of 500,000 cubic meters per day, spanning an extensive 150 kilometers, thereby ensuring the essential supply of potable water to the regions of Makkah and Madinah.
The construction phase is slated to span a duration of 30 months, following which the commencement of commercial operations is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, ensuring an uninterrupted service for 35 years.
AWPT, taking the lead with a 50% stake in the consortium, will now engage actively with pertinent stakeholders to facilitate the attainment of the project's financial closure.
The contract is bound by a noteworthy timeline of 450 months, underlining the long-term commitment and vision behind this transformative endeavor.
